Vintage 1980s Wooden Nutcrackers — Huntsman & Soldier Pair (Original Peoples Drug Tag)

Somebody bought one of these at Peoples Drug for $5.99, and the sticker's still on the bottom to prove it. That store is gone. The nutcrackers are still standing guard. Loyalty like that deserves a good home.

This is a pair of vintage hand-painted wooden nutcrackers. One is a green-coated huntsman in a bowler-style hat, with a little carved bird hanging from his hand. The other is a classic red-coated soldier in a tall plush fur hat with gold epaulettes. Both have fluffy white hair and beards and those signature nutcracker grins. Both jaws still open and close with the lever in back.

Condition: Good vintage condition with honest wear. There are paint chips along the front edge of the soldier's base and light paint wear on the hands and feet. The huntsman has a hairline crack in the paint on his face. The faux fur is a bit fluffy and wispy with age, and the soldier's plush hat has slight toning. No maker's mark. Please check the photos.
